

Zhen Duncan – Livonia, Michigan
Zhen grew up in China and came to the U.S. in 2003 to further her education at the University of Vermont. She married and moved to Michigan in 2007. Currently, she lives in Livonia with her husband and daughter.
Zhen holds a B.S. degree in Horticultural Science and has been a Chinese language instructor since 2004. Her broad range of teaching experience includes private tutor, summer camp Chinese language instructor, and Chinese school teacher.
Elena Fang – Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Elena is originally from Taiwan and is a native Mandarin and Taiwanese speaker. She moved to the U.S. over 25 years ago. Elena, a proud mother of three, loves working with children from a variety of backgrounds.
Elena has a B.A. degree in Western Literature & Languages. She is currently a substitute para-educator in the Bloomfield Hills Public School District. In addition, she has been teaching Chinese to students of all ages for the past five years.
Maria Peng – Sylvania, Ohio
Maria was born and raised in Taiwan. Her family has always valued multiculturalism, and as such, Maria began learning English when her family hosted a foreign exchange student from the United States. In high school and college, Maria tutored students in English conversation and Chinese composition. She also worked as a language instructor in Taiwan for over three years.
In 1993, Maria moved to Ohio to obtain a B.S. and an MBA degree from the University of Findlay. She continued her passion for teaching as a Chinese tutor for international students. Today, Maria continues to enjoy teaching Chinese to children and adults. Her energy, patience, and effective teaching methods will maximize each child’s potential to learn Chinese.
